UDIA GCL – Logan Branch ahead of its game.
In his role as Branch President, Sean Sandford provides his take on the work being done UDIA GCL Executive Committee;
UDIA Logan branch is focused on building relationships with local stakeholders and working hard on the future development sector in our region.
In the second half of the year, the UDIA Gold Coast Logan Branch will continue the advocacy of its members, meeting and liaising with Invest Logan, the new Director of Planning for Logan – David Hansen, the new Director for Planning for the Gold Coast – Alisha Swain along with Councillor Cameron Caldwell on the key issue facing the Gold Coast of land supply and finally with the State Government and City of Gold Coast on the Spit Master Plan.
Introduction of a new Branch Business Plan 2017/18, has seen a focus on ensuring our members are able to deliver the projects through keeping them up to date on critical matters which will affect the way they do business. We are also continuing to host a range of events aimed at providing our members with the best information and understanding of the market.
The UDIA Gold Coast Logan Branch has been working closely with industry and Local Government to ensure the Urban Development sector is in the forefront for opportunity’s that will come from this unique and rare opportunity. Gold Coast and Logan areas have seen significant growth over the last 12 months through the proactive approach of the Executive Committee on the key items that face our region.
The introduction of the second stage of the light rail has allowed visitors easy access to the Gold Coast from the Brisbane International and Domestic Airports as well as great transport in and around the Gold Coast and to the Northern Suburbs. Not to be outdone Logan is providing the key residential growth areas for the region with two of the largest residential developments that will see Flagstone and Yarrabilba provide over 60,000 new homes to the lower Southeast corner.
The Branch has made numerous submission to Local Government on a range of items including the Land Development Guidelines review, ROL Code updated for Gold Coast, TLPI No 5 for Gold Coast, Parks & Auxiliary Unit scheme review for Logan and Local Government Infrastructure Plan’s which shape the critical projects to be delivered.
UDIA Gold Coast Logan branch will continue to provide members access to expert insight, innovations and trends in the industry to make their developments successful.
